Another successful night hike up to the top of Green Mountain. We were treated to a fantastic red moon-rise as well!
The annual Camps-giving was held at the Koshare Kiva this year. The parents and scouts have a cook-off with traditional Thanksgiving fare.
Our troop recently went up to the Buffalo Peak Wilderness for a 3 day backpacking trip! This is a low traffic, 15 mile trail that loops around some nice valleys and has amazing views. There is about 2000 feet of climbing, brown trout fishing, and waterfalls along the way!
Our troop has returned from the legendary Sea Base over Spring Break! Sea Base is a sailboat adventure off of the Florida Keys where our Scouts are immersed in a totally unique aquatics program.
It was a cold and windy night hike, but we were delighted to take the back trail on the backside of Green Mountain. Memorable views and camaraderie as usual… and sugar cookies with hot chocolate!
Our annual Scouting for Food drive started this weekend. Scouting for Food is a project rooted in the very foundation of the Scouting movement and its dedication to do a good turn daily. We will collect hundreds of pounds of donations from our community and deliver to our local food rescue/pantry, Joy’s Kitchen, for distribution.
We usually make it to Glenwood every year. This year, we went late in September and re-discovered a nice riverside campsite and had some fun in the hot springs pool!
We had a wonderful weekend hosting Pack 548 Webelos as they get ready for cross over. We worked on fishing, canoeing, axe skills, fire skills, orienteering, and first aid. As always, Camp Tahosa was a beautiful venue.
